About:

Throughout his career, John has worked in two different realms: pastoral ministry and academics. In both fields, he has been blessed with opportunities to work with teenagers and young adults, helping them discover truth, beauty, and goodness. His educational accomplishments include a M.A. in Humanities, concentrating in United States History, as well as a B.A., M.A. and D.Min. focusing on biblical studies, theology, and ministry.

John resides in southwest Virginia with his wonderful wife and two sons, whom they homeschool. He loves a high-quality cup of coffee and a good board game to play against his wife Cindy, who, more often than not, ends up defeating John.

Professional Experience:

• Over 7 years of teaching high school courses of World History, World Geography, US History, American Government, and AP US Government & Politics
• Over 10 years as an Adjunct Professor in Bible/Theology, US History, World Geography, and the Humanities (multiple colleges and universities)
• Freelance work in curriculum writing
• 2018 WFXR “Teacher of the Year” A+ Educator nominee
• Academic research published in theological and historical journals
• Associate Pastor of Youth & Music Ministries
